Rev. Tommie Watkins Jr.

Rev. Tommie Lee Watkins, Jr. is the General Manager of The Watkins Group, LLC. (TWG) and founder of the Ministry of Reconciliation, which is an inclusive and affirming education and worship experience primarily for Black Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning persons, Persons Living With AIDS (PLWAs)and their family members and is conducted in Miami, Florida and Nassau, Bahamas. Rev. Tommie Lee Watkins, Jr. is an ordained Baptist minister and a native of Birmingham, Alabama.


Tommie is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and an Alumnus of the United States Naval Academy. He has been featured on BET Tonight to respond to the study that claims homosexuals can become straight. He was recently profiled in the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's
(NGLTF) "I'm Black and I'm Proud" book. He's been in The Advocate's special Trailblazer's edition discussing his legal victory against the U.S. Navy. Tommie currently resides in Miami Beach, Florida where he is a community activist and consultant to various agencies conducting HIV/AIDS prevention education focusing on programs targeting Black men of color who have sex with men and women (MSMWs).
